Tracy received a B.S. degree in Biology from Albany State University and a B.S. in Medical Technology from the Medical College of Georgia. She worked for three years as a Medical Technologist at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA before returning to the Medical College of Georgia where she would receive her Ph.D. in Physiology. She was a postdoctoral fellow at Georgetown University before joining the faculty at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in 2014. Tracy is an assistant professor in the Department of Natural Sciences at UMES where she teaches Introductory Biology and upper-level Biology courses to undergraduates.

Tracy also serves as Co-PI for the University System of Maryland (USM) Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program and Campus Coordinator for LSAMP at UMES. She is responsible for administrative duties related to the program, planning and organizing professional development and co-curricular activities for participants and affiliates, and recruiting, mentoring and advising program participants. Also, she participates in the recruitment of Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) fellows and participate in BD program activities.

Current research in her lab uses the zebrafish as a model organism to understand the mechanisms that govern fluid and solute transport in the vertebrate kidney. Read More
